In 2020, Visua collaborated with Idaho Central Arena to enhance their visual fan experience. The collaboration brought state-of-the-art upgrades to the arena while also increasing operational efficiency with new products.

THE CHALLENGE

The infrastructure at Idaho Central Arena posed some unique challenges to the Visua team. The arena was not designed for a 360° ribbon board, requiring Visua to think outside of the box and craft a custom solution to achieve a seamless installation. Visua also needed to carefully integrate the new ribbon and corner displays with the pre-existing center-hung display to create a cohesive viewing experience.

THE SOLUTION

Visua drew from their extensive experience and technical know-how to complete the job. Since the arena was not designed for a 360° ribbon board, Visua decided to take advantage of the infrastructure already in place by mounting the ribbon board to the cement and railing on the second deck. However, mounting the 360° display to the second deck exposed the intricate and delicate elements of the display. To combat this, Visua tailor-made a spill-prevention system to protect the display, saving the client money by preventing costly repairs. Additionally, Visua used MotionRocket LaunchPad PRO to integrate all three visual displays, allowing for all on-site production staff to display content for each display from one system.

THE RESULTS

Visua's work at Idaho Central Arena was a success in all aspects. The innovative upgrades showcased their latest cutting-edge technology, leading to increased attendance and new sponsorship opportunities for the arena. The upgrades also dramatically improved the fan experience, which is reflected in the arena's improved attendance numbers.
